KISHANGANJ: Kishanganj Nagar Parishad is on the boil again. As many as 27 ward councilors have girded up their loins to move a no-confidence motion against the incumbent chairperson Archi Jain.
The ward councilors, who have cobbled together, have approached Kishanganj DM Animesh Kumar Parashar in a joint petition on Tuesday, called for a meeting of the Nagar Parishad to consider the no-trust motion against the present chairperson Archi Jain on Tuesday .

The incumbent vice chairman Ajay Kumar Saha, who along with the disgruntled ward councilors called upon the DM and submitted their petition, claimed before newsmen on Tuesday that they had the support of as many as 27 out of 34 ward councilors of the Nagar Parishad.
They have already forwarded their petition calling for the meeting to the Purnia division commissioner as well.
Asked why they are keen to bring the no-trust move against the present chairperson Archi Jain, Saha explained that the style of functioning of the present incumbent was quite arbitrary and hamhanded. They have also framed 11 charges against Jain for her dethroning.
Though DM Parashar has not yet fixed any date for the meeting, Biklish Fatima is believed to be the front runner for the hot seat.
The disgruntled councillors have thrown their weight behind Biklish Fatima, sources told TOI.
Sources close to the incumbent Nagar Parishad chief Jain, however, believe that it was nothing more than a storm over the tea cup, and the crisis will blow over soon. The present Nagar Parishad was constituted in 2012 following election on June 9, 2012, and has still has three years’ tenure remaining.
